About Me

5221_1006979132696609_3309887808813869964_nMy name is Carrie Shane. I Have been married for more than 20 years and have two grown boys and two grandchildren…who are adorable!!  My story is one of hope..which you will hear a lot about if you get to know me.

I can remember having some sort of health problem on and off for most of my life. They were small things but it seemed pretty consistent. As a child I had dental problems and joint pain/tendinitis all the time.  I developed hyperthyroid after the 10th grade but my Mom was the only one who thought it was a bad thing. It wasn’t until my second baby was born in 1997 that the problems started to escalate.

I was diagnosed in 2002 with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and began 16 years of battle against it and other health issues that crept into my life.   During those years, I collected a long list of illness that included Fibromyalgia, Sleep Apnea,  weight gain, GERD,  but the worst of it was the emotional and mental toll it took.  The depression was unbearable and became dangerous to my well being. My mental abilities disappeared and I became withdrawn and alone…unable to keep up with normal life.

Life was filled with  extreme highs and extreme lows. Deep inside I knew if I could just hold on and trust God for one more day things would work out.  He led me to a precious doctor almost 3 years ago who has turned everything around.  The root causes are being uncovered and I am on my way to reclaiming my health and my life. I have another round of treatment coming as we test and deal with Lyme related issues. I have come so far but still have a ways to go. God is faithful and I believe He will see me through.

This blog will be about health, wellness, God, family, hobbies, and just everyday life events. I should have been doing this all along but I believe it’s never too late to start. If I can reach just one person and offer them hope, this will be worth it.

Carrie! Can I ask what kind of Dr you are going to?? I too am a product (and will be, work in progress here too!) of Alternative Medicine. I exhausted the medical field before I finally found a chiropractor who practices NRT (Nutrition Response Testing) who then found the incredible chemical and heavy metal toxicity. It did a lot of damage to my body, and I still have a lot of work to do. I pray healing over your life, in every area and that He continues to use your story to comfort others who are on the same road! Thank you for sharing your story and struggles! ❤
God bless you, sister in Christ!

Thank you Tiffany. I see an Integrative D.O. He is always learning about new and alternative ways to test and treat. The metals are bad for me too especially with the MTHFR and Lyme. I have heard about others who found chiros who were very helpful. I also went through many doctors before I found mine. Praying you find healing too. Bless you!
